Updated: Sep 27, 2021
After Covid restrictions last year, lets make this #Halloween 2021 the Best one EVER! Have a look at some of the Halloween events and parties planned for families near you.
What family friendly Halloween events are going on near me this Half term?
I am glad you asked because there’s ton’s going on to keep the children and family happy, not just on Halloween night, but though out the week to keep the little ones entertained this half term, from Pumpkin Picking, crafts, discos, and ghoulish fun for toddlers.
Here at South Yorkshire Mobility, we believe it is vital to support our local communities and other local business and events, especially after what many businesses have gone through this past year or so. I have compiled a list of Halloween events in Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster, plus a few events that just had to get a mention, on the edges of our beautiful County so you can plan in advance what to do with your family.

Wentworth Woodhouse is spectacular any day of the week, and children and adults from the surrounding areas will all have fond memories of #WentworthWoodhouse and it's grounds. The Steel Cauldron Spooner Road
If you haven't experienced the Steel Cauldron, let me just say... It is an absolute must. Think of every Wizard film going with a big dollop of Harry Potter, think Witches, fantasy and folk lore, with delicious food that caters for every dietary requirement. This is just on a standard every day day ! The atmosphere here is wonderful and enchanting. It is perfect for children with growing imaginations. My last visit to the #SteelCauldron was to see one of the only socially distanced Santa's going. Let me just say it was just a wonderful almost normal hour in what was a very difficult December, they made the kids Christmas so special! I got my yearly photos of them with Santa, they were treated fantastically and I simply cannot wait to visit during Halloween as I have heard it is the perfect place to enjoy a Spooktacular Halloween!

Trunk or Junk
Excel Martial Arts
Long Acre Way
Now I have to say I had never heard of Trunk or Treat but this is also what pricked up my interest. A little #google later and it turns out that this is a fairly new American tradition started by the Church to create a safer environment for children to "trick or treat" in a publicly decided place with supervision. #goodidea
I really like this idea, however I'm not sure if I could create a good Trunk display of Halloween goodies amongst the kids coats, smelly trainers, sports kits, babies bottles, old fruit shoots and McDonalds toys ...but perhaps you could! Excel Martial Arts are brining this fantastically American tradition to Sheffield. Why not pop down and give it a go?
The information provided for this event by Excel Martial Arts is :
An American tradition, drivers and their families decorate their cars for Halloween, sometimes creating elaborate scenes out of their trunks. Then kids walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy the way they would during a normal trick-or-treating outing.
Prizes for best trunk!

Doncaster Family and children's events
Pick your own pumpkins this October. I have done this for the past several years with my son and my new little pumpkin daughter. The photo opportunities you can have are amazing, some of my favourite photos have been taken on the farm, the fields of pumpkins, the Autumn sky and their cute faces awww I really can't wait to be back at #eastfieldfarm There is a little café on site with really good home baked goods, nice for a warm drink and a sit down with a blanket.
This outing really is back to nature and shows the children how a pumpkin grows, live and then picked. It's convenient, doesn't fill the whole day but keeps the little ones entertained and it is just so enjoyable being outside on a crisp Autumn day choosing your pumpkin, popping it in your wheel barrow and then taking it home to carve. Highly recommended!
